Blog: Fundraising Heroes - July
At Mary’s Meals, we’re so lucky to have thousands of supporters from across the globe who make us smile with all the fantastic things you do to support our work. Every little act of love adds up in a big way to provide life-changing meals at school for children in some of the world’s poorest countries.
In this new monthly blog we’re celebrating our fundraising heroes everywhere, from Croatia to the USA and more! We hope you enjoy it!
#feeditforward
In the US, our friends at HarperCollins 360 – the USA Publishers of The Shed That Fed A Million Children – have been challenging their contacts to skip one meal and instead donate what the cost of that meal would have been to Mary's Meals.
The idea is you take a picture of your empty plate or bowl with the hashtag #feeditforward and post it to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, nominating three other people to skip a meal and donate.
HarperCollins 360 hopes to raise enough money to feed 1,000 children for one year. Amazing!
Mary’s Meals supporters on tour!
A group of big-hearted students at Stenden University Leeuwarden in the Netherlands recently took part in a virtual cycle, raising an impressive €2500 for Mary’s Meals.
Five students were tasked with creating a fun way to raise money and organised a tour along all five Stenden campuses, with participants travelling a staggering 722 kilometres by exercise bike.
It’s amazing to see the students put so much ENERGY behind our mission to feed more hungry kids.
Croatia pupils show some love
Pupils from Antun Kanižlić Primary School in Croatia have been busy fundraising for Mary’s Meals. The students managed to raise enough money to feed 150 children through our school feeding programme.
It’s amazing to see so much love for Mary’s Meals all over the world!
A huge THANK YOU to all of these fantastic supporters. Whether it’s raising funds, volunteering, praying or raising awareness – everyone can play a part in helping Mary’s Meals to reach the next child so please get involved and tell a friend too!
