As the old saying goes, ‘many hands make light work’ and it is an adage that is also true for the important life-changing work of Mary’s Meals.  It is through the creativity, energy and generosity of thousands of Canadians from coast to coast to coast, raising funds for our mission, that allows us to reach the next hungry child.

These two young parishioners, pictured with their Parish Priest, have worked diligently for several years collecting funds every Sunday at their small rural parish in Manitoba on behalf of Mary's Meals. They started collecting in late 2019 and to-date have collected over $5000.00 including a special memorial donation in remembrance of their grandfather.  Through the boys’ commitment and enthusiasm, and the generosity of the parishioners, their grassroots fundraising initiative has fed over 158 children a daily meal in their place of learning.

Grassroots fundraising is integral to the work of Mary’s Meals. From bake sales and birthday bequeathals to garage sales and walk-a-thons, small change can make a huge impact for the next child waiting for Mary’s Meals.  The prospect of a daily meal encourages school enrolment and improves attendance thereby giving children living in poverty the opportunity to learn and look toward a better future.

There are many different ways you can help by donating your time, money, thoughts and prayers.
