Meet our new Head of Finance and Operations
Mary's Meals Canada is excited to introduce you to Andy Wilson, our new Head of Finance and Operations..
Andy Wilson is a steadfast, devoted, and friendly non-profit senior leader. Andy loves to see and help people operate in their sweet spot.
Andy is originally from the South-East of England and emigrated to Canada in 2006.
After 12 years working in frontline roles for various non-profits Andy got a business degree with a focus on Non-Profit Management. Since 2015 for 6 ½ years, Andy has worked as Director of Operations for a charitable organization called United Youth Outreach. His work there saw him oversee the finances and day-to-day operations. Andy is motivated by seeing the scale of our efforts to see radical change around us globally. Andy has a history of helping visionary leaders create and execute strategy and build for the long haul.
Hearing how Craig Lodge House of Prayer is part of the Mary’s Meals story reminded Andy of his own experience working for a Charity focused on prayer (24-7 Prayer International).
In considering joining the team at Mary’s Meals, Andy reflected deeply upon Jesus words in The Lord’s Prayer “Give us our Daily Bread”. The word “Our” describes humanity’s cry to feed us all. The fantastically simple and singular focus to feed children in some of the most abject settings globally is deeply compelling for Andy to serve. Andy feels honoured and humbled to be able to join the Mary’s Meals Canada team and is ready to help build the Canadian organization from strength to strength.
Andy lives in Calgary with his wife Debbie and 2 children Finley, Aged 9 and Elliott, Aged 3. An ideal day for Andy is on the Alberta ski slopes in the morning with a round of golf in the afternoon and a family dinner in the evening. Andy still has his English accent and loves to hear how Canadians try to pronounce Worcestershire Sauce.
